John R. "Jack" Kramer
It is with heavy hearts that we announce the death of John R. “Jack” Kramer of Ottsville, PA, who passed away on November 22, 2021, suddenly after a valiant battle with severe COVID-19 pneumonia. He was 66 years old.
Jack and his wife Lori (Kornfeld) had just celebrated their 39th wedding anniversary in September.
Born in San Antonio, TX, at Brooke Army Hospital, he was the son of William J. Kramer and the late Maxine Evelyn (Gogan) Peterson, and the grandson of his late and beloved “Gramps,” Maxwell M. Kramer, and “Ma,” Margaret M. (Zirpolo) Kramer.
At age one, Jack’s family moved to Acton, MA, where he was raised and surrounded by a loving, close-nit family: His Gramps, Ma, Uncle Bob, Aunt Betty, Uncle George, Aunt Joan, and cousins provided him with such a loving family environment.
He attended Acton-Boxborough Regional High School (Class of 1972). He would later go on to begin his career with James River Corp., where he developed a mastery of sales and an exemplary work ethic which eventually propelled him into the executive suite. In this capacity, he went on to become an established foodservice executive, serving as CEO/president of numerous companies and as a sought-after industry expert consultant for European startups wishing to enter the American market. Jack was also a gifted inventor with remarkable artistic talent, securing patents to be employed by many of the most successful restaurant chains across America, as well as one for a golf-club-recovery device with his older brother William J. Kramer.
Jack loved life and always prioritized his family. Lori was the love of his life, whom he met on their own little paradise of Singer Island, FL. He was immensely grateful to have been blessed with his late parents-in-law Hans and Inge, whom he regarded as his own. He absolutely adored his four children and four grandchildren, cherishing every moment he spent with them; it was his great pride to be Ava, Kameron, Nina, and Jace’s Pop-Pop.
Jack especially looked forward to family vacations to his beloved “happy place” in Brewster, Cape Cod, MA. Growing up close to Boston, Jack was naturally a devoted Red Sox fan; he even played semi-professional baseball himself as an outfielder for the Eastern Mass. Baseball League’s Acton A’s, as he was a natural athlete. Over the years, he enjoyed many hobbies including carpentry, building projects, American history, and Major League Baseball.
Jack was a devout follower of Christ: He instilled Christian teachings in his children and grandchildren and happily served as an usher at his beloved River of Life Church in Doylestown, PA.
In addition to his wife Lori, Jack is survived by his four children: Kristen L. Kramer-Shimanek of Pipersville, PA, Ryan G. Kramer of Boynton Beach, FL, Eric M. Kramer of Pompano Beach, FL, and Alexandra L. Dalessandro of Newtown, PA. He is also survived by his grandchildren Ava Leigh, Kameron Michael, Nina Grace, and Jace Ryan; his sons-in-law Ryan Dalessandro and Justin Shimanek; his daughter-in-law Catalina Kramer; and his father William (Paula), brother William “Billy” (Martha), sister Kim Wilderman (Mark), sister-in-law Heidi A. Kornfeld, and two nieces, Jackie and Karleigh.
