She enjoyed playing piano and organ, listening to jazz and classical music, reading, needlework, crafts, and baking her mother’s fabulous pizza and cookies for her family and friends.

Rita’s final thoughts and reflections:

Remember me with smiles and laughter, for that’s how I’ll remember you all. If you remember me with tears, then don’t remember me at all.

I had the joy of holding my children in my arms, experiencing the ups and downs of child rearing, the fun we had, the places we visited, the things we did. We are friends.

My children do not owe me anything. They enriched my life. All they have to do is be good parents themselves and help others when they can.

My greatest legacy is knowing that my children are well, living useful and fulfilling lives and are good human beings.

I have had a good life. My regrets are few, my joys many….Thanks to the love of a dear husband and wonderful children.
