Judith "Judy" C. Comes (Cole)

Judith Cole Comes, of Warrington, PA died peacefully on Wednesday, October 20, 2021, at The Pathways at Warrington. She was 80.

She was the beloved wife of the late Thomas E. Comes Jr.

Born in Wilkes-Barre, PA, she was the daughter of the late Wilbur and Florence Brelsford Cole and sister of the late Cynthia Bean.

Judy came to Doylestown in 1953 with her mother and sister Cynthia and graduated from both Central Bucks High School and Elizabethtown College. In 1966 she married Thomas Edward Comes, Jr., to whom she was happily married for 36 years. Ed predeceased her in 2003.

Judy worked in education for both the New Hope-Solebury and Central Bucks School Districts, retiring in 2006.

In retirement Judy was a docent for both the James A. Michener Art Museum and the Pearl S. Buck House. She was also active in The League of Women Voters, Questers and Pearl S. Buck Volunteer Association.

She is survived by her children, Andrea McAleese and her husband Jim of Leesburg, VA and Stephen Comes and his wife Stacy of Doylestown and her brother-in-law Fred Bean of Doylestown. She is also survived by her four grandchildren; Emma Grace McAleese, Thomas Cole Comes, Kathleen Elizabeth Comes and Ryan Harrison Comes.

Her family will receive relatives and friends on Saturday, November 6, 2021, from 10:00 am until a celebration of her life at 11:00 am at Lenape Valley Church, 321 West Butler Ave., New Britain, PA 18901.  Her interment will be held privately.

In lieu of flowers, the family requests donations be made to the James A. Michener Art Museum, 138 South Pine Street, Doylestown, PA 18901 or to The Pathways at Warrington, 2900 Street Rd, Warrington, PA 18976.
