Peter Marino

Peter Marino, 77, of Newtown, PA and Cape May, NJ passed away on October 18, 2021 surrounded by his loving family. He is reunited with his mother and father, Michael and Angela (Moccio) Marino, and his sister Antoinette Dolan. Pete grew up at 28th and Allegheny in North Philadelphia, attended Corpus Christi Elementary School, and graduated from St. Matt’s High School in Conshohocken, where he was active on his high school reunion committees. Pete served in the United States Army from 1964-1966, worked as a mailman, and later had a successful career working for Continental Bank and subsequent financial services.

After meeting his wife, Carol, at the Jersey Shore and getting married in 1970, they moved to Bucks County beginning a lifelong hobby of building new houses and moving every 5-10 years. Peter and Carol were married for 51 years, building a beautiful family of children and grandchildren with whom he looked forward to vacationing.

For many years, Pete could be found spending his summers repairing a 100 year-old shore house on Andrews Avenue in Wildwood with his brother-in-law Jim Love and a revolving cast of characters with varying degrees of construction skill. Later, he became a member of the “Queen Street Beach Club” in Cape May where he spent many hours talking to friends and neighbors, reading the newspaper, sleeping in a beach chair, and solving the world’s problems. He could often be seen on his bike in West Cape May or out at the Point. He also took pleasure in an afternoon pint at the Cape May Brewing Company, an early bird special, attending daytime Phillies games, or taking a road trip to other ballparks with his son.

Peter enjoyed taking daily walks in Tyler Park. In earlier times, he loved sailing with his brother, Chick, on the Chesapeake.  He also looked forward to helping his children with renovating or repairing their homes and attending his grandchildren’s sporting events and activities.

In addition to his wife, Carol, Pete will be greatly missed by his children Michael (Regina) Marino and Megan (Darrin) Geist; his grandchildren Aiden, Abigail, and Alexander Geist and Angelina, Kathryn, and Marisa Marino; his brothers Michael (Margaret) Marino and Sam “Chick” Marino; brothers-in-law Martin Dolan, James (Diane) Love and Leonard (Betty) Love and numerous nieces and nephews.

Relatives and friends are invited to attend his viewing on Friday October 22, 2021 at 10:00 am until his Funeral Mass at 12:00 pm at St. Andrew Catholic Church at 81 Swamp Road Newtown, PA 18940. Interment with military honors to follow at Resurrection Cemetery in Bensalem, PA.

In lieu of flowers, a donation can be made to the American Heart Association or the charity of your choice.
