John F. Enders Jr.

John F. Enders, Jr. of Surf City, NJ, (formerly of Doylestown) died suddenly on October 3, 2021 at his home in Surf City, NJ. He was 87.

Born in Philadelphia, he was the beloved husband of the late Della E. Ferguson Enders who died in 2001.  John was the son of the late John F. Enders Sr. and Frances Fetch Enders and a dear friend and companion to the late Francoise Pitoy.

John was a graduate of Frankford High School, class of 1950, after his graduation, John joined the United States Air Force and served during the Korean Conflict. John took advantage of the Veterans College assistance program and attended Penn State University and received his degree in Mechanical Engineering.

John started his professional career, in the late 60’s as a home builder trading as Del-Jay Builders in the Bucks County area.  He always kept busy with a variety of development and construction projects.  He was a Mason and a member of the LuLu Temple Shrine.  He loved spending time at the shore, boating and fishing.

John is survived by his daughter Terrie L. Swavely and her husband Ralph M., a brother Robert Enders and his wife Rita, and his grandchildren, Andrew Vero (Katerina), Eric Swavely, Krista Swavely, Michael Swavely and Joseph J. Heffernan and his great grandson Ezra J. Vero.  

John’s family will receive condolences on Monday October 18, 2022 from 1:00pm until his Funeral Service 2:00pm at the Joseph A. Fluehr III Funeral Home 241 E. Butler Ave. (at Sandy Ridge Rd.) New Britain, PA 18901. Interment will be private.

Contributions in his memory may be made to Shriners Hospital for Children, 3551 N. Broad St. Philadelphia, PA 19140.
