Wayne D Woodruff

After a long courageous battle with cancer, Wayne D. Woodruff passed away at the age of 64 on Saturday, October 9, 2021 at Doylestown Hospital surrounded by his family and friends. He is preceded in death by his father and mother. He is survived by his loving wife Anna Woodruff (nee Quartucci), his two sons Nicholas D. Woodruff and his fiancée Cynthia Dougherty, and Alexander R. Woodruff, two sisters, Susan Race and Sandi DiStefano, 3 nieces, one nephew and 4 grand nieces.

Wayne was born and raised in New Castle, DE. He settled in the suburbs of Philadelphia after graduating from Spring Garden College with a BSEET. He subsequently received his Master’s Degree in Electrical Engineering from Villanova University in 1987.

Wayne married his best friend, Anna Woodruff in 1988. Together they raised two amazing sons, Nick and Alex. Wayne was the most loving and supportive father and husband. He was a "MacGyver” to all that knew him. He could fix and “Waynengineer” solutions to any problem and always had a tool for everything.

Wayne developed software and performed testing for a number of consumer electronic devices.  He holds two US patents along with numerous technical publications.  As an Engineering Director he was admired for his leadership and team building skills.  He was also instrumental in launching large scale voice/video/data networks for major telecoms.

Wayne had endless love for his family. He enjoyed participating in sporting events with his sons and always assisted in coaching their teams. He enjoyed many trips with his wife to the Southwest US and the Bahamas.

Wayne’s passion in life was riding motorcycles and would ride almost every day, with the exception of icy and snowy days. Wayne was a very talented photographer and he would love to spend days on his motorcycle taking pictures of the marvels of nature.

Wayne was a very loving man with a beautiful gentle soul.  He will be forever missed and will live in the hearts of those that loved him.

Relatives and friends are invited to greet Wayne’s family on Saturday, October 16, 2021 from 10:00am, until the time of his Funeral Tribute, 11:00am, at Joseph A Fluehr III Funeral Home, 241 East Butler Avenue (at Sandy Ridge Road) in New Britain, PA 18901. Wayne preferred that attire be casual, so there is no need for suits and ties; crusty, dirty motorcycle jackets are a plus. Masks will also be mandatory inside the funeral home. His internment will take place privately.

In lieu of flowers, memorial donations in Wayne’s honor can be made to the Make a Wish Foundation.
