John F. Bailey

John (Jack) Frederick Bailey was released from his earthy bonds on Saturday, October 9th, 2021, in Newtown, PA at age 92. He was born at the Bailey Family Homestead on the corner of Bath Road and Old Orchard Land, Bristol Township, PA, the son of George P. Sr. and Helen Mae Bailey, retiring to Wayne County Pa in 2001and then to Bucks County Pa in 2015.

John was a graduate of Bristol High School, Class of 1948, earning honors in Industrial Arts. He attended Trenton Junior College of Industrial Arts, the International Correspondence School, Scranton PA, and the European Command Signal School, Germany.

He was a World War II Veteran serving with the Second Armored Division of the U.S. Army Occupation Forces in Germany (1951-1953).

John was Co-owner of George. P. Bailey and Sons, Inc, Electrical Contractors, for 55 years, serving as president of the family firm for 19 years.

He will be remembered as a devoted husband and father, avid gardener and hunter, skilled builder, talented bowler, and dedicated leader with the Boy Scouts of America. John was generous of himself in helping others, especially his children, guiding them by example. His legacy to them is, “there is only one way to work: hard.”

He enjoyed watching football, baseball, basketball, and playing for the Bristol High School Warriors basketball team in 1947-1948. He was a loving and supportive spouse and father who always sought to make certain his family and friends were cared for.

In addition to his parents, John is predeceased by siblings Gladys, George Jr, Elizabeth, William, Carrie, Jacob (David), Dorothy, Edward, and nephew Mark Culver.

He is sadly missed by his wife of 68 years Rita (NEE Ciotti), brother Howard, sons Robert J. (June), Kevin G. (Karen), Barry A. (Rose Giardine), Paul G. (Kenetter), and Matthew W. (Courtney); grandchildren Jon (Dana), Rob (Christina), James (Grace), Robin, Kaitlyn, Monica, Brett, and Ryker; great grandchildren Tristan, Robbie, Quinn, Azurra, Colton, Julianna, Elizabeth, Breaker, and Maverick.
