John Albert Bodden

John A. “Jack” Bodden, of Chalfont, PA died on Friday, September 24, 2021, at his home with his loving family by his side. He was 74.

He was the beloved husband of 53 years to Kathleen M. Cahill Bodden.

Born in Philadelphia, PA, he was the son of the late Hubert and Alta Stern Bodden and brother of the late Robert and William Bodden.

Jack was a Vietnam Veteran who proudly served his country.  Upon discharge from the Army, he married the girl he knew since second grade. He became an Abington Police Officer and then upon moving to Chalfont, joined the New Britain Township Police Department.

Changing career paths, Jack found his true calling as a Real Estate Agent and then a Real Estate Broker.  He thoroughly enjoyed helping people navigate the process of buying or selling their homes.

With strong community ties he was elected to the New Britain Township Board of Supervisors, where he proudly served for 24 years.

Jack was always willing to help either family or friend and would always put his heart and soul into any job.  The numerous projects that he did in his childrens' homes will bring happy memories for many years.

In addition to his loving wife, he is survived by his four children, Marita Northrup of California, Kate Marie Charles of Lafayette Hill, John Albert Bodden, Jr. and his wife Carmen of Wayne, PA, and Margaret Mary Rubillo and her husband Michael of Doylestown; his brother Carl Bodden and his wife Carol of Doylestown; sister-in-law Patsy Bodden (Robert) of South Carolina; brother Ronald Bodden of Quakertown; and his sister Felicia Kummerle. He is also survived by his six grandchildren, Hunter, Sierra and Chase Charles, Luke and Mack Bodden and Liam Rubillo.

His family will receive relatives and friends on Thursday, September 30, 2021 from 10:00AM until his Funeral Mass, 12:00PM in St. Jude Church, 321 West Butler Ave., Chalfont, PA 18914.  His interment will be held privately at a later date.

In lieu of flowers, contributions in his memory may be made to Wounded Warrior Project, P.O. Box 758517, Topeka, KS 66675.
