Marianne K. Widmann (Kooke)

Marianne K. Widmann passed away peacefully on Saturday, September 25,2021 at her home in Churchville. She was 85.

Born in Philadelphia, Marianne is survived by the love of her life, husband Werner Widmann, to whom she was married 62 years. She was the daughter of the late Henry and Lena Degler Kooke.

In her younger years Marianne (Kookie)as her friends called her, was an avid basketball player in high school and was involved in the women’s chorus in the German clubs in the area. Marianne was an accomplished piano player and enjoyed playing whenever she could. Later in life she enjoyed gardening, designing her home, and being with her children and grandchildren. Playing pinochle, board games, and doing puzzles was always a competitive and fun activity with Nan. She also enjoyed needlework and cross stitch in her down time. She had a love for all genres of music one day it would be Pink Floyd another day classical music. Marianne was an animal lover, especially cats and would take in strays that came from the woods behind their house. She loved the outdoors and the peace it brought her.     

In addition to her beloved Werner, Marianne is survived by: son Derek Widmann; daughter in law Pamela; daughter Monica Hirst (Edward); grandchildren Shane and his wife Regan, Shannon and Shaunna Widmann, Dakota, Cole, Skyler and Reno Hirst.

Marianne’s service will be held privately.
