Nancy Anne Carroll (Doughty)

Nancy Anne Carroll of Holland, PA died peacefully on Wednesday September 22, 2021 at her residence at Holland Village.   She was 90 years young.

Born in Pittsburgh, Nancy was the beloved wife of the late Thomas W. Carroll, who died in 1997. Daughter of the late Albert and Catherine (Chambers) Doughty of Pittsburgh, PA.

Nancy Anne was a graduate of Crafton High School where she played basketball. Her professional career spanned many years in the insurance industry, having worked for Richard Hardenberg Insurance, Group of Marlton, NJ and retired from Cigna Insurance Co. Phila, as an Executive Manager.  She was a very talented seamstress, making draperies and clothing for friends and family.  She found particular joy in making doll clothes, needlework and crafts for her grandchildren.  She was admired for her strong work ethic and resourcefulness.

She formerly lived in Merchantville NJ, Bensalem, Philadelphia and Leesburg FL.  She and Tom took great pleasure in residing on historic Elfreth’s Alley in Philadelphia and participating in the annual Fete Day celebrations.  Nancy and Tom loved to travel and fulfilled their retirement dream of being full time motor homers traveling the United States and Canada.   During these cross-country trips, they enjoyed meeting new friends and sharing experiences with numerous motor home clubs. After the death of her husband, she was blessed with the love of her dear companion Dale Fulmer, who was her partner for over 15 years until his death.

Nancy returned to Bucks County in 2017, moving to Holland Village to be closer to her family.  There she found new friends and enjoyed the friendly rivalry of being a loyal Pittsburgh Steelers fan among her new Philadelphia Eagles fan community. She valued the dedicated support staff of Holland Village that helped her enjoy each day.

Nancy Anne is survived by her daughter Patricia (Carroll) Haneman and her husband Niel of Washington Crossing, PA and her 3 devoted grandchildren; Colin, Chelsea and Kylee Haneman. She was predeceased by her sister Jean Haffner (Doughty) and brother Donald Doughty.

Nancy's family thanks the care givers and staff from Sundee Home Care, Compassus Hospice and Holland Village, who made her final years comfortable and happy.
