Edward M. Sheehan, Sr.

Edward M. Sheehan Sr., of Warrington, PA died on Friday, September 17, 2021, at Neshaminy Manor. He was 91.

He was the beloved husband of 52 years to the late Elizabeth Dudley Sheehan, father of the late Kevin Sheehan, Joseph Sheehan and Edward Sheehan Jr. and grandfather of the late Matthew Sheehan, and great grandfather to the late Jack McAfee and Paul Sheehan.

Born in Philadelphia, PA, he was the son of the late Dennis and Helen Devlin Sheehan. He was raised on Conestoga St in S.W. Philadelphia. He is the last surviving member of 11 children (9 boys and 2 girls).

Edward is survived by his ten children, Michael Sheehan of Chalfont (Pam Troisi),  Patrick Sheehan and his wife Sue of Richlandtown, Elizabeth McAfee and her husband Michael of Warrington, Brian Sheehan and his wife Trish of Warrington, Mary Jane Williams and her husband Tom of Warminster, Timothy Sheehan and his wife Sue of Warrington, John "Jack" Sheehan of Hatboro (Liz), Robert Sheehan and his wife Alyssa of Gilbert, Arizona, Helen Conroy and her husband Dennis of Sellersville, Eileen Sheehan of Ithaca, NY, and his daughter in-laws, Ann “Nancy” Sheehan of Pipersville and Dawne Sheehan of Pipersville.  He is also survived by his 64 grandchildren and 67 great-grandchildren.

Edward was known for his love of life and family. He was a model of hard work, respect, laughter and constant dedication and commitment to those he loved. He will be remembered for his continuous sacrifices he made for his family, from the amount of hours he worked, to all the baptisms, first communions, birthday parties, sporting and school events he never missed.

There are many memories of him holding a new grandchild or great grandchild on his lap. He would always make each one feel as special as the previous. He made sure never to miss an opportunity to go to the hospital to welcome each grandchild.

One of his favorite things to do was to have everyone over on Meadowood Lane for some fun in the pool and cooking on the grill.

He will always be missed for his selfless ways, as well as his strong moral values and Christian beliefs, but he will live on in his proudest accomplishment, his family.

Relatives and friends are invited to attend his viewing on Wednesday, September 22, 2021, from 4:00 – 8:00 pm at St. Robert Bellarmine Church, 856 Euclid Avenue, Warrington, PA 18976, and Funeral Mass on Thursday, at 10:30 AM.  There is no morning viewing.  His interment will follow his funeral mass at St. John Neumann Cemetery, Chalfont.

In lieu of flowers, contributions in his memory may be made to: Epilepsy Foundation Eastern Pennsylvania, 919 Walnut Street, Suite 700, Philadelphia, PA 19107-5237
