Caroline Wilson

Caroline Rich Wilson, 83, of Newtown passed away unexpectedly on Monday, September 6, 2021.  She was surrounded by her family as she peacefully left this world.

Born in Rye, NY, she was the daughter of the late Edward D. and Evelyn Connell Wilson.  She attended Skidmore College and worked for many years at Princeton University’s School of Architecture. She later went back to school and graduated from Rutgers University with a Masters in Library Science.  After she received her MLIS, Caroline worked as a librarian for the Wrightstown Library.

Caroline was an avid reader, passionate lover of nature, her dogs; Keri and Isla, music, word games, and travel.  She enjoyed small groups, lively debates and time spent with family and friends. Those who played Mahjong, Boggle, Scrabble, or Words with Friends with her will miss her competitive spirit and diverse vocabulary.  In her later years, she kept herself busy and involved by volunteering and participating in committees and organizations.  Most recently she was involved with Newtown Friends Meeting, Questors Club, The Retired Librarians Group, and Newtown Library Co.

Caroline is survived by: children Carrie Whitacre, and husband Eugene, of Furlong, PA,  Quimby Pierce and husband Brian Beck, of Pasadena, CA,  and Joshua Pierce and wife Allison, of Mahwah, NJ; grandchildren Carrene Walker and husband Josh, Max Whitacre and wife Amanda, Jillian Whitacre and fiancé Tiberu Szabo, Ashley Potter, Samantha Beck, Parker Beck, Sarah Pierce, and Kaia Pierce; and great-grandchildren Wyatt Whitacre, Cole Walker, Beau Walker, Anna Walker, and Henry Whitacre. In addition to her parents, she is preceded in passing by her daughter Hilary Potter and brother Edward Wilson, Jr.
