Anthony J. Rossi

Anthony J. Rossi of Holland, PA died peacefully on Wednesday September 15, 2021 at St. Mary Medical Center, Langhorne.

He was 83.

Born in Pittsburgh, PA, Anthony was the beloved husband of Claudette Rossi (nee Bergeron). Son of the late Peter and Virginia Rossi (nee Giancola) and brother of the late Rosemary Vacca.

Anthony was a 1955 graduate of Central Catholic High School in Pittsburgh, PA.  He earned a B.S. in Electrical Engineering from the University of Pittsburgh and a J.D. from Catholic University in Washington, DC.  While pursuing his law degree, he worked at the U.S. Patent office.  After starting his law career in Pittsburgh, Anthony moved with his family to Philadelphia where he worked as a corporate attorney in various capacities with Electric Storage Battery Company (ESB), which later became known as Exide Corporation.  After Exide, he worked with Asea Brown Boveri (ABB).  Anthony retired as General Counsel from ABB and subsequently as Of Counsel from the Philadelphia law firm, Woodcock, Washburn, Kurtz, Mackiewicz & Norris, LLP.

Anthony married the love of his life, Claudette, in 1966 after meeting on a flight for which she was working as a stewardess.  They shared 55 years of love, family, memories and laughter.  Anthony was a lifelong learner with a curious mind. His interests laid in all manner of topical subjects, and he was an avid reader and consumer of news.  He sent information, articles, jokes and riddles to his family, friends, and grandchildren often on thought provoking topics to pique their interests and get them to think, sometimes seeing which grandchild could figure out a riddle or respond to a joke fastest.  He was a world traveler enjoying many memorable trips with his wife. Retirement was enjoyed spending time with family as a loving husband, father and grandfather.

In addition to his beloved wife, Claudette, Anthony is survived by his devoted children: Christopher Rossi and his wife Michelle and Stephanie Crowley and her husband George. He is also survived by his sister Anita Notte, brother-in-law Carmen Vacca and 6 fantastic grandchildren; Colin, Matthew, Julia, Ethan, Kendall and Gavin.

Anthony’s family will receive condolences on Monday September 27, 2021 at St. Bede the Venerable Church (1071 Holland Rd. Holland, PA) from 10:00am until his Funeral Mass, which will begin 11:00 am.  Anthony’s Interment will be private.
