Donald G. Pries

Donald G. Pries of Middletown, DE and formerly of Randolph, NJ died peacefully on Thursday, September 9, 2021.  He was 89 years old.

Donald was the beloved husband of the late Lorraine Pries and the grandfather of the late Brian Snyder

Born in Philadelphia, PA the son of the late John and Marie McDaniels Pries.

Donald was a proud Veteran of the Army who served at the Pentagon during the Korean War era.  Prior to his service for our country, he was a resident of Philadelphia and a graduate of North Catholic High School. He was an accomplished high school pitcher who went on to play for the minor league ball with the Reading Phillies. He also enjoyed playing the trombone and played in several local bands.  After his service in the Army Donald began his career with Johnson Motor Lines Trucking company.  He worked his way to become regional vice president for the company.

Donald will be greatly missed, but eternally loved and remembered as a loving and devoted husband, father, grandfather, great grandfather, brother and friend.

Donald is survived by his children; Doreen Snyder of Philadelphia, Lorraine Andico and her husband Lawrence of Mount Arlington, NJ, and Jack VanJaarsveld of Tampa, FL.  He is also survived by his sister Eileen Bowersock, his grandchildren Kimberly, John, Heather, Lauren, and Dominick, his great grandchildren Allison, Emily, John, Evan, Jamie, and Natalie, and many nieces and nephews.

Relatives and friends are invited to attend his viewing on Thursday, September 16, 2021 from 10:30 AM until his Funeral Mass 11:30AM at St. Bede the Venerable Church, 1071 Holland Road Holland, PA 18966.  His interment will follow at Holy Sepulchre Cemetery in Cheltenham.

In lieu of flowers, contributions in his memory may be made to ASPCA.
