James I. Moore
James I. Moore, Jr. of Perkasie, a loving husband, father, step-father, grandfather, sibling and friend died peacefully with his family by his side on Thursday, August 26, 2021, at his home.
Jim was 75. Born in Philadelphia, he was the beloved husband of Grace M. Lilleg Moore for the past 29 years, son of the late James I. Sr. and Florence McSorley Moore.
In addition to his beloved wife Grace, Jim is survived by his children, Jason P. Moore and his wife Jen, Alecia Moore Hart and her husband Carey; step children, Elizabeth Coughlin and her husband Steven, John D. Tymkiw and his wife Trish; six outstanding grandchildren, Ryan, Emily, Madelyn, JT, Willow and Jameson. He is also survived by a brother, George Moore and his wife Carol; two sisters, Iris Garison and her husband Gary, and Florence Moore.
Jim attended Father Judge High School, Ft. Lauderdale High School, and Brown College Prep.
He was a proud veteran of the United States Air Force, serving as a weapons load crew chief with service in Thailand and Vietnam. He was awarded the National Defense Service Medal, Vietnam Service Medal, Republic of Vietnam Service Medal, Air Force Commendation Medal and the Air Force Good Conduct Medal.
Jim had a varied career as a corporate pilot, an insurance and investment professional and a music manager.
He attended St. Joseph’s University in Philadelphia and Spartan School of Aeronautics in Tulsa, OK.
Jim helped to form the Vietnam Veterans of America Chapter 210 in Doylestown, PA and served as Vice President. He was a life member of Vietnam Veterans of America and Veterans of Foreign Wars.
Jim’s professional career was only surpassed by his love of family. He took pride in the accomplishments of his children, step children and grandchildren. He wrote poetry, was a songwriter, musician, storyteller and animal lover.
He was an outgoing human being with a heart of gold and a warm and welcoming smile. He was always at the ready for a conversation that would lead in to a story that would make everyone his friend. He enjoyed traveling, both in the USA and abroad, and covered many miles with his wife and friends on a motorcycle.
The Moore family will receive condolences on Tuesday evening, September 14th from 6:00pm until 8:00pm at the Joseph A. Fluehr III Funeral Home, 241 East Butler Avenue (at Sandy Ridge Road) New Britain, PA 18901 and on Wednesday morning, September 15th at Our Lady of Sacred Heart Church, 100 Broad Street in Hilltown, PA from 10:00am, until the start of his Funeral Mass, 11:00am. Interment, with military honors, will follow at Washington Crossing National Cemetery in Newtown, PA. At each gathering, the family appreciates if guests wear masks and practice social distancing.
