Mildred D. Moss (Wallen)

Mildred D. “Dee” Moss died Tuesday, August 24, 2021 at Riddle Village in Media, PA where she resided for the last five years. She was 91 years old.

Mildred was the beloved wife of the late John J. Moss, Jr. who passed away in 2016. The couple had shared 61 years of marriage.

Born in Philadelphia, PA, Mildred was the only daughter of the late Lewis and Mildred Hartenstein Wallen. She is the mother of the late Charles Moss and sister of the late John, Gerald, Frank, Thomas and Michael Wallen.

Mildred (Doris) will also be fondly remembered by her brother Joseph Wallen and his wife Suzanne.

Mildred was a devout Catholic whose faith guided her life.  She was a strong and kind woman who raised six children and worked for many years at various banking institutions.  In her retirement, she enjoyed shopping and traveling with her late husband, John. 

Mildred will be greatly missed but she will be eternally loved and remembered as a devoted mother, grandmother, great grandmother, sister, and friend.

Mildred will be missed by her children, Donna Rinnier and her husband Edward, John Moss, Terry Holland DeStephano, Mark Moss and Christopher Moss; her grandchildren, Jennifer Wise (Gregory), Christy Maier (Chuck), Melissa Hill (John), Tiffany Swope, Melissa MacTough (Michael), Jessica Ramsawak (Rajiv) and Ashly Figaniak (Joseph); her great grandchildren, Andrew, Ryan, Charlotte, Caroline, Chloe, Kaela, Landon, Emma, Harper, Bennett and Hazel.

Relatives and friends may greet Mildred’s (Dee’s) family and pay their respects on Monday, August 30, 2021 from 10:00am, until the start of her Funeral Mass, 11:00am at St. Andrew Catholic Church located at 81 Swamp Road in Newtown, PA 18940. Interment will follow at Our Lady of Grace Cemetery in Langhorne, PA.

In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to Little Sisters of the Poor 5300 Chester Avenue, Philadelphia, PA 19143.
