Maria Carchedi (Fornari)

Maria Carchedi of Abington died peacefully on Sunday, August 15, 2021.  She was 90.

Born in Rome, Italy, Maria was the beloved wife of the late Michele Carchedi.  Maria is survived by her five loving and devoted children along with her fourteen adoring grandchildren; Dr. Joseph Carchedi of Ambler, PA along with his daughter Daniela and son, Michele; Claudio Carchedi and his wife Bernadette of Orefield, PA and their children, Christopher and Sophia;  Stefano Carchedi and his wife, Caroline of Lower Gwynedd, PA and their two sons, Massimo and Cole; Michelle Carchedi of North Wales, PA and her five children, Alexander, Andrea, Nicolette, Juliana and Lucas and Daniel Carchedi with his wife Marcie of Doylestown and their three children, Marco, Luca and Anabella.

Maria had a zest for life that was unmatched.  She loved to dance and to sing.  She loved to cook and to eat. She loved to travel and lovingly, she made lasting friendships wherever her travels took her. She welcomed strangers into her home routinely and they all left with a warm heart and a full belly.  Some people make the world special just by being in it, Maria was one of them.

Services and interment will be private.

In lieu of flowers, contributions in her memory may be made to American-Italian Cancer Foundation: 112 East 71st Street, Suite 2B, New York, NY 10021
