Walter R. Pickwell, Jr.

Walter R. Pickwell, Jr. of Churchville, died peacefully at home on August 15, 2021 surrounded by his family. He was 83.

Born in Abington, he was the beloved husband of 47 years to Patricia A. McCutcheon Pickwell, son of the late Walter R. Sr. and Muriel Schonfeld Pickwell.

Walter was a graduate of Abington High School, Abington and Lafayette College, in Easton, with his degree as a Metallurgical Engineer.    

Walter started his professional career with Bethlehem Steel for a while and then with Air Products. In 1967 he joined Franklin Smelting and Refining Company and retired after 30 years.

Walt, enjoyed reading and gardening, playing golf at Spring Mill Country Club with great friends. He was a family man who loved his children and doted over his grandchildren. He will be remembered for his quick wit, gracious smile and firm handshake.

In addition to his beloved wife Patricia, he is survived by his children; Wendy J. Workman, Richard W. Pickwell and his wife Nancy, Justine M. Mascaro, Gregory T. Pickwell and his wife Rose, Charles D. Mascaro and Janette R. Mascaro, also surviving is his brother William R. Pickwell and his wife Linda and his wonderful 11 grandchildren and 11 great grandchildren.

Walter’s services and interment were private.
