William "Bill" Katz
William “Bill” Katz went to be with the Lord on Thursday, August 12, 2021. He passed with his loving wife at his side.
Beloved husband of Carole Wolff Katz, the couple had been married for 32 years.
Bill was the son of the late Julius J. and Loretta Linnington Katz. He is the brother of the late George Katz. Born and raised in Philadelphia, Bill worked for Schutte & Koerting in Bensalem as a certified calibrator for 35 years.
While he living in Philadelphia he was involved in Boy Scouts. He was Cub Master of Pack 100 and Assistant Scout Master of Troop 100. He would often talk about his love of scouting especially his yearly trip in July to scout camp.
He loved traveling, especially touring all 50 states and some countries, mostly in his motorhome; and spent many years as a snowbird in Florida. He enjoyed camping with the Penn Coachman and Glad Hatters camping clubs where, among other roles, he served as President.
He enjoyed many years of square dancing and Round Dancing with the Dixie Derbys and Bells and Bows.
Bill had a great sense of humor and enjoyed participating in many fun activities. He was a certified clown for many years and fully enjoyed the volunteer opportunities and parades that came along with the role.
He was active at Holland Village as President and held other offices in the Resident’s Association along with various committees and activities. He also volunteered with the MRC (Medical Reserve Corp) for Bucks County and especially liked working at the county flu shot clinics.
Above all, Bill loved being with his family and friends. He will be missed enormously by his wife Carole; his children, Christina and Phillip Shulman and Edward Moyer; his grandchildren, Jason Shulman, Andrew Moyer and Meghan Moyer; and his brother Charles Katz. He will also be missed by many friends at Holland Village as well as many others from various activities.
A Memorial Service in tribute to Bill’s life, will be held on Saturday, August 28, 2021 at 10:30 AM in the Auditorium of Holland Village, 280 Middle Holland Rd., Holland, PA 18966. All guests in attendance are required to wear masks and be checked in at the front desk of Holland Village. Your cooperation is appreciated in helping to keep everyone safe.
In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made in Bill’s name for “Twining Brook Garden” which he helped to create. Checks can be made out to “Residents Association” and marked Bill’s Memory in comment section. Mailed to Holland Village, 280 Middle Holland Rd, Holland, Pa 18966.
