Brian James McEvilly, Jr.

Brian James McEvilly, Jr. died Friday, August 13, 2021 in Washington Crossing, PA, surrounded by his family. He was 37 years old and a resident of Doylestown, PA.

Born in Meadowbrook, PA and raised in Yardley PA, he was the only son of Brian J, Sr. and Carmel (Tudico) McEvilly. Brian was the beloved brother of Seana (McEvilly) and Richard Powell and Sheila (McEvilly) and Kevin Dearing. He is also survived by 4 loving nieces, Madeline, Victoria, Brianna, and Amanda, several aunts, uncles and cousins and many close friends that he considered family.

Brian was a proud graduate of Saint Joseph’s Preparatory School where he was the first recipient of the Father David Sauter Award, an award given to a student who has overcome adversity during his time at the Prep. He attended Saint Joseph’s University on the Eagles Fly for Life Scholarship.  Brian spent his early career at Cancer Treatment Centers of America where he was a Hospital Growth Associate, responsible for helping patients and their families with various support services while undergoing treatment.   Also, during his tenure at CTCA, Brian helped to raise and distribute millions of dollars for the financial needs of the patients.  After eight years supporting cancer patients, Brian took some time off to travel and pursue some personal adventures.  Brian changed careers in the last few years and was most recently a Financial Representative at Fidelity Investments. He was also a board member for various nonprofit organizations.  Brian loved nature walks, hikes, kayaking and showing off his vast knowledge of trivia while watching Jeopardy.

Brian will be remembered for the courage and perseverance he displayed during his 21 year battle with various health challenges. He was the epitome of a “fighter.” For all of his challenges, he was always quick with a smile and maintained his sense of humor throughout.  Brian never once asked “why me” but instead did everything in his power to keep the spirits of his friends and family optimistic.

Brian’s family and friends struggled at times to understand why he had to face the many painful challenges he had to endure in his life. However, when we are reminded of all the lives he touched, his generosity to others and his many important accomplishments in his young life we know there was a greater purpose for his time on this Earth.  He will be dearly missed by all.

Relatives and friends are invited to greet Brian’s family on Saturday, August 21, 2021 from 9:00am, until the start of his Funeral Mass, 11:00am at Sacred Heart Catholic Church, 343 South Broad Street in Trenton, NJ 08608. Interment will follow at All Saints Cemetery in Newtown, PA.
