Donald F. Henkensiefken

Donald F. Henkensiefken of Newtown, died peacefully on Monday evening July 19, 2021, at his home surrounded by his devoted family. He was 83.

          Born in Atlantic City, New Jersey, he was the beloved husband of 48 years to Maria Johnson Henkensiefken, son of the late Frederick F. and Grace Reynolds Henkensiefken and father of the late Diana J. Henkensiefken and grandfather of the late Jason Miller.

          Don, as he was known affectionately and professionally, was a master plumber for most of his life. He started his professional career with Harding Brothers in Southampton and was with them for 18 years. He then worked for the Upper Southampton Sewer Authority and for a time had his own tractor and was hauling freight across the country.  In 1980 he started D H Plumbing and along with his son Dave have been serving families and builders throughout the area for over 40 years. Dave continues the business today. Don retired in 2004, but continued to help in many ways. He will be remembered for his tireless work ethic and always being ready for any emergency.

          Don had many hobbies including traveling around the country in his 38.8 motor home with Maria, watching the Eagles and the Phillies.  Don had an eye for creativity especially with designing H O gauge railroad layouts. His patience in working in small areas was astounding and his train collection is over the top. He was a member of National Model Railroad Association and Train club and was the recipient of the Golden Spike.

          Don was blessed to have been married to Maria, and when they got married Don had 4 children: Donna Henkensiefken, David Henkensiefken and his wife Lise’, Don F. Henkensiefken, Jr.  and Maria had 3: Timothy Meehan and his wife Denise, Michael Meehan and his wife Joan and Robert Meehan and together they have been blessed with 10 grandchildren: Joseph Meehan, Michael & Nydia Meehan, Dillon Meehan, Cathryn Meehan and her fiancé Brandon Metz, Sean Meehan, David Henkensiefken Jr. Danielle Jennings, Joseph & Michelle Villar, Jeremy Henkensiefken, Justin Miller, and 5 great grandchildren; Peyton Henkensiefken, Brody Jennings, Addy Metz, Logan Villar and Hudson Villar. Don will also be missed by his constant companion Molly their cocker spaniel.

          Relatives and friends are invited to attend his viewing on Saturday July 24, 2021 from 1:00pm until his Christian prayer service at 3:00 pm in the Joseph A. Fluehr III Funeral Home 800 Newtown-Richboro Rd. (at Holland Rd.) Richboro. His interment will be private.
