Robert R. Albert, Sr.
Robert R. Albert, Sr. entered into God’s presence on July 11th. For Precious in the sight of the Lord is the home going of our loved ones. (Psa, 116:15). Bob was 89 years old.
Robert was the beloved husband of Mildred J. McFadden Albert. They just celebrated their 66th anniversary on July 9th.
Born in Philadelphia, PA he was the son of the late Edward and Sadie Anna (Albert) Thomas. He was the loving father of the late Edward Albert and the late brother of Jack Albert and sister Dorothy Gilleo.
Bob began his lifelong cabinet-making and woodworking career in 1954 in the basement of his home. With an eye for detail and precision, he created many of his own tools, shaper cutters and guides. As his success grew, he opened Albert’s Custom Kitchens in Horsham. Many of his customers knew him on a personal level and were returning customers. Bob retired in 2017 at the age of 85 after over 60 years in the business.
Bob enjoyed watching all of the Philadelphia sports teams and attended numerous Eagles and Phillies game. Bob was at the World Series when the Phillies won in 1980. He enjoyed playing golf and had the experience of hitting a hole in one.
Bob was known for his quick wit, one liners and his love of ice cream (it had to Breyer’s real vanilla bean). But most all he was a hard worker, loved his family and a born again Christian.
In addition to his wife Mildred, Bob will be missed by his children Robert R. Jr. and Jenna Albert and Karen and Chris Pie’; his grandchildren, Stacey and Guy Clayworth, Edward and Janice Albert, Renee Albert, Robert R. III and Damona Albert, Shawn and Leah Albert, Kate Albert, Deanna and Mike Gazzerro, Adam and Hannah Pie’ and Mallory Pie’; and 8 great grandchildren, Ashley, Kayla, Haley, Julianne, John, Garrett, Elena and Grace. Bob will be missed, but the family is rejoicing in knowing that he’s absent from the body and present in the Lord. (2 Corinthians 5:8 ).
