Francis A. Liney

Francis A. “Fran” Liney, of Chalfont, died at home on June 30, 2021, surrounded by his loving family. He was 57 years old. Fran was the beloved husband of 27 years to Alison (Nevin) Liney. Born in Philadelphia, he was the loving son of the late Francis and Rosemarie (Rieco) Liney.

Fran graduated from North Catholic High School in Philadelphia in 1982. He then enlisted in the United States Air Force from 1984-1988. In 1989, he began his 32-year career with Local 5 Elevator Constructors’ Union. Fran’s favorite pastime was going to sports games to watch his hometown Philly teams play as well as the Boston Red Sox and the Penn State Nittany Lions. One of his fondest memories is taking his sons to their first baseball game at Fenway Park in Boston when they were 4 years old. Fran spent winters with his family skiing in the Pocono mountains, Killington, Vermont and Lake Placid, New York. He enjoyed his summers with his family at the Jersey Shore and Assateague Island in Maryland. Fran became a certified scuba diver, and got to experience many dives during vacations in the Caribbean as well as many cruises with his family and friends.

In addition to his wife, Alison, Fran is survived by his loving sons, Dylan and Ryan Liney of Chalfont; by his sister and brother-in-law, Kimberly and Douglas Chambers of Burlington, NJ; by his brother-in-law, Frank Sciortino; by his mother-in-law, Sheila Nevin; and by a host of nieces, nephews, extended family, dear friends, and fellow Elevator Constructors. He was preceded in death by his sister, Deborah Sciortino.
