Francis A. Liney
Francis A. “Fran” Liney, of Chalfont, died at home on June 30, 2021, surrounded by his loving family. He was 57 years old. Fran was the beloved husband of 27 years to Alison (Nevin) Liney. Born in Philadelphia, he was the loving son of the late Francis and Rosemarie (Rieco) Liney.
Fran graduated from North Catholic High School in Philadelphia in 1982. He then enlisted in the United States Air Force from 1984-1988. In 1989, he began his 32-year career with Local 5 Elevator Constructors’ Union. Fran’s favorite pastime was going to sports games to watch his hometown Philly teams play as well as the Boston Red Sox and the Penn State Nittany Lions. One of his fondest memories is taking his sons to their first baseball game at Fenway Park in Boston when they were 4 years old. Fran spent winters with his family skiing in the Pocono mountains, Killington, Vermont and Lake Placid, New York. He enjoyed his summers with his family at the Jersey Shore and Assateague Island in Maryland. Fran became a certified scuba diver, and got to experience many dives during vacations in the Caribbean as well as many cruises with his family and friends.
In addition to his wife, Alison, Fran is survived by his loving sons, Dylan and Ryan Liney of Chalfont; by his sister and brother-in-law, Kimberly and Douglas Chambers of Burlington, NJ; by his brother-in-law, Frank Sciortino; by his mother-in-law, Sheila Nevin; and by a host of nieces, nephews, extended family, dear friends, and fellow Elevator Constructors. He was preceded in death by his sister, Deborah Sciortino.
Relatives and friends are invited to greet Fran’s family on Tuesday, July 6, 2021 from 6:00 PM to 8:00 PM, Joseph A. Fluehr, III Funeral Home, 241 East Butler Avenue (at Sandy Ridge Road), New Britain, PA. Fran’s family will again be greeting relatives and friends on Wednesday, July 7, 2021 from 10:00 AM until his Funeral Mass at 11:00 AM, St. Jude Church, 321 West Butler Avenue, Chalfont, PA. Interment will be privately held at a later date.
In lieu of flowers, donations made in his memory to Wounded Warriors and Home At Last Dog Rescue are appreciated.
