Cecilia E. "Celie" Greytok (Eckels)
Cecilia E. Greytok, affectionately known as “Celie” passed away peacefully and was surrounded by her family on Thursday, June 24, 2021 at Doylestown Hospital. She was 79 years young. Celie was the loving and devoted wife of Joseph A. Greytok for 56 years. In addition to her husband, Celie is survived by her children, Jill Greytok of Newtown, Lynne Hovagimyan and her husband, Steve, of Furlong, and Eric Greytok of Chico, CA; her grandchildren, Joe Greytok, Sara Hovagimyan, Christiano D’Antuono, Kendall Greytok, Andrew D’Antuono, and Chase Hovagimyan; and her brother, John Eckels and his wife, Kalani Goins of Eugene, Oregon. She leaves behind many groups of friends ranging from high school, college, and teaching.
Born in Huntingdon Valley, PA she was the daughter of the late Joseph and Marie Eckels. Celie graduated from Neshaminy High School with the class of 1959 and to this day still enjoyed spending time with her gal pals from high school. She went on to earn her Bachelor’s degree in Education from then Rider College and eventually earned her Master’s degree in Education from Temple University. She achieved a 25-year career with Neshaminy School District where she taught Business and Computer Sciences at the middle, and high school levels.
Celie enjoyed summers for over 50 years at Big Bill Lake in Ontario, Canada. Whether at the lake cottage or home in Wrightstown she was always looking to tackle the next improvement project. She was an avid music lover and was a Philly Pops season ticket holder every year, enjoying each concert with close friends. She also enjoyed reading, watching Hallmark movies and HGTV, gardening and cooking and was famous for her homemade meatballs and pumpkin bread. Celie loved having all the family and friends for holiday celebrations. Her favorite holiday was Christmas and she never disappointed with decorations and yearly celebratory Christmas Eve dinner at the Greytok household enjoyed by many.
She was passionate, well informed, sharp as a tack and was loved by her family and friends beyond measure. She was a loving wife, great mom, sister, an adoring grandmother and beloved friend. Celie was always present for a family member or friend in need. Simply put, she will be missed more than words can express and forever remembered in the hearts of many.
