Kenneth W. Bond

Kenneth W. Bond, of Woodbine, NJ and formerly Philadelphia, died peacefully at home on June 16, 2021.  He was 89 years old.  Kenneth was the devoted husband of Dorothea Ann (Landis) Bond, who passed away last year. Born in Upper Darby, he was the beloved son of the late George W. and the late Ethel (Snyder) Bond.

Kenneth was a proud Police Officer of 22 years with the Philadelphia Police Department, earning many commendations during his service and serving as a founding member of the Philadelphia Police Department Honor Guard. He was also a decorated U.S. Army veteran, earning 5 Bronze Stars among other accolades as a Corporal during the Korean Conflict. Kenneth had a strong passion for sports, but most of all for his cherished family.

Kenneth is survived by his loving daughter, Deborah A. Bond of Woodbine, NJ; by his brother Robert Bond and his wife, Pat; by his sister, Janet Wagner and her husband, Tom; by his sister-in-law, Joyce Shablin; by his two cherished grandsons: Michael James O’Neill and his wife, Denise; and Gregg Joseph O’Neill.  He is also survived by many nieces and nephews, by a host of extended family and friends, and by his loyal canine companion over the past year, Deborah’s Rottweiler Titus.

Relatives and friends are invited to greet Kenneth’s family on Wednesday, July 14, 2021 from 10:30 AM until his Memorial Service at 11:30 AM, Joseph A. Fluehr, III Funeral Home, 800 Newtown-Richboro Road, Richboro, PA.  Interment with military honors in Washington Crossing National Cemetery will follow the service.

In lieu of flowers, donations made in his memory to the Guardians of the National Cemetery, P.O. Box 233, Newtown, PA 18940 or to the Fraternal Order of Police, Lodge #5 Survivors Fund, 11630 Caroline Road, Philadelphia, PA 19154 are appreciated.
