Albina DeSantis (Giuliani)

Albina DeSantis of Newtown, PA and formerly of Willow Grove died peacefully on Sunday, June 20th, 2021 at St. Mary Medical Center.  She was 85.

Albina was the beloved wife of 60 years to Daniele DeSantis who passed only 22 days before her on May 29, 2021

Born in Italy, she was the daughter of the late Nicola and Maria Giuliani and sister to the late Filomena DelSignore and brother Giovanni Giuliani.

Albina was a strong, hard working women with a heart of gold. She was a fashionable modern woman who embraced new ideas but also kept her old fashion values.  For 25 years she worked for Alfredo Angelo Bridal as a seamstress. When she retired she spent her time with her grandchildren. Albina took pleasure in many things; one being cooking big Sunday dinners for the family. Preparing homemade pasta and other Italian food for her family was one of her biggest joy.  Before every holiday you could find her in the kitchen making holiday baked goods. Sewing and crocheting was a big apart of her life as well. She also enjoyed trips to the casino. She would entertain us with childhood stories.

Albina spent her leisure time watching Spanish and Italian soap operas. She loved her trips back to Italy to see her relatives. During the summer months she tended to her vegetable garden and spent time in Sea Isle City NJ. She was a lifelong catholic who was devoted to St. Padre Pio. She was a sacrificial wife and mother, who took excellent care of her ailing husband for more than 10 years.

She is survived by her loving and devoted children; Angelo DeSantis and his wife Anne of Skippack, Pina Hipple and her husband Tony of Newtown, Danny DeSantis of Oreland, Gloria Varallo and her husband Marc of Horsham, and Marco DeSantis of Fort Washington.  She is also survived by her eight dear grandchildren, and her brothers Italo Giuliani and Giuseppe Giuliani who both live in Delaware.

Relatives and friends are invited to attend her viewing on Monday, June 28, 2021, at St. Andrew Catholic Church, 81 Swamp Road Newtown, PA 18940 from 10:00AM until her Funeral Mass 11:30AM.  Her entombment will follow at Whitemarsh Memorial Park in Prospectville, PA.
