James Vincent Garofalo

James Vincent Garofalo passed away on Friday, June 4, 2021 at Doylestown Hospital. He was 83 years old. “Jim/Jimmy” was born on July 31, 1937 to the late Vincent and Ann Iacona Garofalo.

Jim was the dear husband of the late Catherine Bonner Garofalo. The couple shared thirty two years together prior to her passing in 2016.

Born and raised in Philadelphia Jim loved the Boy Scouts as a child, he was the treasurer of Club Majestic as a teenager and graduated from Lincoln High School. He spent twenty years working for Penn Fruit followed by twenty plus years at Mark 70 condominiums in Cherry Hill as a maintenance manager, prior to his retirement. Jim’s handyman skills were utilized by many friends and family over the years.

The open door policy of his home was unmeasured. Everyone was family and treated as such. Jim loved hunting with his buddies at the cabin and traveling with his wife and friends. He also enjoyed long road trips to spend time with friends and family and of course his favorite meal, chicken parmesan.

His wife Cathy was his whole world and Jim was a wonderful caretaker for many years until her passing. We can all take comfort in knowing they have been reunited once more.

Jim was very active in the lives of his grandchildren, nieces, and nephews. He was a fixture at many baseball games, wrestling matches, annual hayrides, family celebrations, and much more.

He is survived by his children, Michael Garofalo, Michelle Martino, Kathy Jeffries, her husband Randy Jeffries, and David Conboy. His grandchildren, Vincent Garofalo, Leanne Huq, Jaclyn Jeffries, Samantha McEwen, her husband Eric McEwen, Kevin and Sean Jeffries, Emily, Shannon, and Connor Conboy, and Nicole Hunsicker. His great grandchildren, Hailey, Mirza, Harper, and Eric. Jim is also survived by many special nieces, nephews and cousins.

Relatives and friends are invited to attend his viewing on Monday, June 14th from 10:30am until his Funeral Mass 11:30am in Assumption B.V.M. Church, 1900 Meadowbrook Road Feasterville, PA 19053.  His interment will be private.

In lieu of flowers, contributions in his memory may be made to Shriners Hospital for Children, 3551 North Broad Street Philadelphia, PA 19140.
