James M. "Jim" Fenerty, Jr.

James  M. Fenerty, Jr. “Jim” passed peacefully on Wednesday May 19, 2021 at his home in Warrington. He was 71.

Born and raised in the Olney section of Philadelphia and Incarnation Parish, he was the beloved husband of 32 years to Mary T. Walsh Fenerty and son of the late James M. “Bud” Sr., and Mary F. Martin Fenerty. In addition to his wife Mary, he is survived by his three children, Jessica (Jawan), Jimmy (Emily), Erin Elizabeth and his favorite grandson, Jalen. Also surviving is his brother Gerald (Lisa) as well as his sisters Margaret M. Vernacchio (late Anthony), and Maureen A. Campbell. His greatest joy in the world was his family and he made sure they knew it.

An educator, coach, and mentor, he spent the majority of his life in the service of others, assisting students at St. Michaels, Conwell Egan, and Germantown Academy. In the classroom, he brought hope to students in need and took such joy in the success of his pupils. On the basketball court, he coached with “a smile in his heart”, finishing 1st all-time in Inter Ac championships, 2nd all-time in wins among Philadelphia High School Basketball Coaches, and mentoring hundreds of students throughout their college selection process. In his later years, he spent the majority of his time as a champion of Coaches vs. Cancer, owner and operator of “Camp Jalen”, and attending daily mass at St. Robert Bellarmine and The National Shrine of Our Lady of Czestochowa.

Relatives and friends are invited to attend his viewing on Monday, May 24, 2021, from 6:00 pm to 8:00 pm at the Joseph A. Fluehr III Funeral Home, 241 E. Butler Avenue (at Sandy Ridge Rd.) New Britain, PA and also on Tuesday, May 25, from 10:00 am to 11:30 am at St. Robert Bellarmine Catholic Church, 856 Euclid Avenue, Warrington, PA with his funeral mass starting at 11:30 am.
