Margaret D. Houston (Biello)

Margaret D. “Peggy” Houston of Holland, PA died peacefully on Friday, May 7, 2021 with her husband and family by her side at Holy Redeemer Hospital.  She was 74.

Peggy was the loving and devoted wife of Joseph A. Houston, Sr. and together they shared a marriage just shy of 54 years.

Born in Philadelphia, she was the daughter of the late Domenic and Mildred Windish Biello.

Peggy and Joe met while they both lived in Germantown. They later married and raised their family. Peggy took great pride in gathering those she loved together for a good meal, and took even greater pride in preparing the food for all to enjoy.  Her sauce and meatballs were second to none as was her apple pie, among countless other specialties.

She also enjoyed trips to the casino, where she was often among the lucky winners and Saturdays spent browsing at Rice’s Market.  Peggy loved the beach and especially Irish Weekend in North Wildwood with her girlfriends.

Most of all, Peggy was devoted to her family and adored her grandchildren who all adored their loving Mommom just as much. She will be dearly missed but her memory forever treasured.

In addition to her husband, Peggy is survived by her children, Susan H. Emery and her husband, Timothy, of Holland, Joanne Hartranft of Plumsteadville, and Joseph A. Jr. and his wife, Cindy, of Quakertown.  She also leaves behind her grandchildren, Dylan, Jake, Meghan, and Zack Emery; Andrew and Mark Hartranft; and Joseph A. III and Derek Houston.  She is also survived by her siblings, Anthony Biello and his wife, Dolores, of Elkins Park, Francis Biello and his wife, Patricia, of Warwick, Patricia Biello of Philadelphia, and Kathleen Smith of Philadelphia.

Relatives and friends are invited to greet the family on Monday May 17, 2021 from 10:00 AM until her Funeral Mass at 12:00 PM at St. Bede the Venerable Church, 1071 Holland Rd., Holland, PA 18966.  Her interment will be private.
