George R. Welsh

George Robert Welsh, age 94, of formerly of Churchville, died Sunday, May 2, 2021 at Ann’s Choice in Warminster, surrounded by his loving family.

Born August 23, 1926, in Philadelphia, he was the son of the late George M. and Mary Stanbach Welsh, and the husband of Florence Dalinsky Welsh, to whom he was married 66 years.

George was drafted into the United States Army in the lead up to World War II, where he served his country with distinction in the Philippines, and then in Korea prior to the Korean Conflict. He would marry Florence in 1955, and they would go on to live in Maryland, and then ultimately Churchville, where they would reside for over 40 years, as active members of St. Vincent de Paul Catholic Church.

George loved the outdoors, and had a long, successful Railroad Labor Relations career. Most of all, he loved his family, who will miss him dearly.

In addition to his wife, George is survived by: daughters Carol Ann Welsh, Catherine J. Welsh-Talarchek, and Christine Welsh (James Nicoletti); 4 beloved grandchildren Jacqueline, Justin, Joshua, and Jordan; 2 adored great-grandchildren Emily and Christopher; and sister-in-law Barbara Hallowell. In addition to his parents, George is preceded in passing by his brother Thomas E. Welsh.

A Memorial Mass will be held at 11:00 AM on Monday, May 10, 2021, at St. Vincent de Paul Roman Catholic Church, at 654 Hatboro Rd., Richboro, with a calling hour starting at 10:00 AM. The wearing of masks is required, and all current health guidelines will be observed. Interment will be held privately on a later date at Washington Crossing National Cemetery, Newtown.

In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made in George’s honor to Ann’s Choice Benevolent Care Fund, at Ann’s Choice Philanthropy Dept., 20000 Ann’s Choice Way, Warminster, PA 18974.
