Jean Ann Isett (Czerwonka)
Jean Ann Isett (nee Czerwonka), of Horsham, died suddenly Saturday, April 17, 2021 surrounded by family. She was 82 years old.
Born November 27, 1938 in Abington, PA, to the late Stanley & Stella (Czaplicki) Czerwonka.
Jean is survived by her loving partner of over 40 years, Donald Waber; her children: Sharon Isett, Jackie & Bill Cochran, Robert & Denise Isett and Jimmy & Maureen Isett; grandchildren: Jamie Isett (Casey Fogal), Nicole Cochran (JP Donohoe), Alison Cochran (Nick Clark) and Isabella Isett and great grandchildren: Danny Kurtz and AvaLee Donohoe.
In addition, Jean is also survived by her step-grandchildren/great grandchildren: Ashley (Dan O’Neill) Carbohn (Sophia, Maddie, Grace and Carlee), Michael Drake and Sarah McClenaghan.
Jean was a caregiver. She lovingly took care of her parents for much of her adult life, while raising her four children as a single parent. Often, things were lean, but Jean always made sure there was a place at the table for anyone who needed a meal. As her children got older, she loved hosting her Christmas open house. The more the merrier was her motto and she loved that so many people (sometimes 30 or more) would cram into her small kitchen to have a glass of her special holiday punch and enjoy the spread of food she always had….with kielbasa being a mainstay!
Jean was born and raised in the house on Avenue B where she lived. She was a staple to the Avenue and everyone knew her. She was babysitter to many of the neighborhood children and neighbors knew “MomMom Jean” would have her eye on the kids at the bus stop!
Her porch was also a haven for many impromptu gatherings. Neighbors would stop by for a quick hello and wind up staying for hours on end just to talk & laugh.
Jean is also survived by her brother Stanley (Cathy) Czerwonka of Warminster and was predeceased by her sister, Dorothy Sparango.
Last, but not least, she is survived by her ‘fur baby’ – Chase. Chase was MomMom’s constant companion during the day. The dog she insisted she didn’t want soon became the dog she spoiled with treats on a daily basis. She truly loved Chase and, in turn, Chase became MomMom’s protector. Chase will be lost without MomMom., as we all will.
Respecting our mother’s wishes, there will be no funeral/viewing. A Celebration of Life will be held on Friday, April 23 from 6:00 pm – 10:00 pm at the Horsham VFW, Post 9788, 324 Saw Mill Lane, Horsham, PA 19044. Please follow COVID restrictions and wear a mask.
In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made to the Horsham VFW (Post 9788) at the address above, for which she held this establishment near and dear to her heart for many, many years as the unofficial ‘watcher’ of the VFW.
