David R. McCreesh

David R. McCreesh, Sr., 60, of Perkasie, PA died peacefully on Sunday, March 28, 2021 at his home, surrounded by his loving family.

Born September 1, 1960, in Philadelphia, he was the son of the late Thomas F. McCreesh and Helen Thompson McCreesh, and the husband of Selena McCleary McCreesh, to whom he was married 32 years.

In addition to his wife, David is survived by daughter Kylie Ann McCarroll, and husband Ryan McCarroll, daughter Kacie McCreesh, son David R. McCreesh, Jr. grandchild Harper Kai McCreesh, and siblings Thomas McCreesh, Patrick McCreesh, Francis McCreesh, Joseph McCreesh, Matthew McCreesh, and James McCreesh.  David is preceded in death by sister Lynn Greenfield.

David held himself to the highest standards of integrity.  Throughout his 27-year career in law enforcement, he progressed through the ranks of Corporal and Sergeant as well as achieving certifications in hostage negotiation, accident reconstruction, and class A wiretapping. In retirement, David successfully ran DS Automotive, LLC with his business partner. David’s integrity is reflected in the impact that those he mentored continue to have on the world.

Above all, David was a devoted husband and father.  He put his family first and was happiest surrounded by the love and laughter of family and friends.  

Family and friends are invited to join David’s family for a viewing from 5:00 PM to 8:00 PM on Friday, April 9, 2021, at Joseph A. Fluehr, III Funeral Home, 241 E. Butler Ave., New Britain. There will be a procession from the family home, 708 Shadywood Drive, Perkasie, beginning at 9:30 AM, on Saturday, April 10, 2021, all are welcome.  A time of remembrance will take place at 10:00 AM at St. Agnes Catholic Church, 445 N. Main St., Sellersville, followed by a Christian Burial Mass at 11:00 AM.

"In lieu of flowers, donations can be made for lymphoma research in David's name to the Abramson Cancer Center, checks payable to the Trustees of the University of Pennsylvania, Penn Medicine Development - c/o Katie Detzel, 3535 Market St, Ste 750, Philadelphia PA 19104 or www.penncancer.org (select Giving)".

Masks are required at all events, and current health guidelines will be observed.
