John B. Fetter, 84, of Chalfont and Naples, passed away peacefully on March 22, 2021 at home surrounded by his loving family. John was the beloved husband of Sharon (Bickart) Fetter, his wife for 63 years.
Born in Elkhart, IN, John was the son of the late Donald Fetter and Alice Jane Nagy. Upon graduation from Western Michigan University, John embarked on a career in human resources. He had an entrepreneurial spirit and started his own business in 1985, which grew to serve his greater community.
John loved being on the water. He started sailing a small sunfish on a lake cumulated his sailing career by earning his certification and sailing 39-foot sailboats throughout the Chesapeake Bay. John always had a hello and a smile for all and was known for his gregarious personality that brought an uplift to everyone he encountered.
John was the loving patriarch of a large and connected family. In addition to his loving wife, he is survived by his two children, Todd Fetter and his wife, Lisa, of Skippack, PA and Diane Appolonia and her husband, Dann, of West Newton, PA. Additionally, he is survived by his nine grandchildren: Derek (Nadia) Hopkins, Caitlin and Taylor Fetter, Leigh, Corynn, Gianna and Justine Appolonia, Alexa and Celia Rossini and his one great-grandson; Duke Hopkins. His sister, Judy, and her husband, Keith Schinabarger, reside in Naples, FL.
John’s conscientious nature included a special soft spot for cats. He was a committed supporter of animal rescue efforts and loved each of his rescue pets alike.
A celebration of his life will be held later this summer. In lieu of flowers, donations in his memory may be made online to either Tabby’s Place (a Cat Sanctuary) or Jefferson Health Hospice online.
