John L. Fetscher

John Louis Fetscher, of Philadelphia, Pennsylvania passed peacefully away on Tuesday, March 23, 2021, surrounded by his loving family. He was 86 years old.

John was the beloved husband of Miriam Fetscher (ne. Kaufman) for 62 wonderful years. John enjoyed reading, spending time down the shore, visiting with family and friends, but most of all, he loved his faithful fur-baby, Bailey.

Born in Philadelphia, he was the son of the late Louis and Anne (Foley) Fetscher and brother of Karl Fetscher, Bernice Scaransino, Kathleen O’Connor and James Fetscher. He was preceded in death by Louis Fetscher, Jr., Anne Pileggi and Regina Fetscher.

John was also preceded in death by his daughter, Patricia Lindsey (Robert). He was a wonderful father to his son, John R. Fetscher (Debbie), and daughter, Jenine Zdanowicz (Phil).

In addition to his loving wife, and children, John is survived by his grandchildren Debbie Buriak (Joe), John R. Fetscher, Jr. (Brianne) and Matthew Zdanowicz, and his great-grandson, Rhoen Fetscher.

Relatives and friends are invited to celebrate John’s life on Tuesday, March 30, 2021 from 9:30am -11am at St. Jerome Catholic Church, 8100 Colfax Street, Philadelphia, Pennsylvania 19136. A Mass of Christian Burial will immediately follow at 11am.  A private interment will be held on a later date at Resurrection Cemetery in Bensalem.
