Michele S. Choisy (Sepdy)

Michele S. Choisy of Doylestown passed away suddenly on Saturday, March 6, 2021 at Doylestown Hospital.  She was 63.

She was the beloved wife of almost 40 Years to Didier Choisy.

Born in Pittsburgh, PA Michele was the loving daughter of the late John and Katherine Jean Thompson Sepdy, the sister of the late Sandra Stout and Erla Roth, and sister-in-law of the late Jim Puff and Ernie Roth.

Michele lived life with enthusiasm and a spirit that defied her early childhood prognosis.  Against all odds, she passionately charged through life without bitterness.  She rose above constant challenges and approached each day with optimism and endless energy.  What shined through her every encounter was her deep compassion for all. She empathized with the smallest of transgressions you might feel, and she strived to brighten everyone's day.  That is not to say that she was a pushover.  Michele was clear in her convictions and shared her opinions without reservation.  She was a force in the room, and she loved it.

She was profoundly magnetic; there was not a person she met who did not find her remarkable and memorable.  People who had met her only once or twice in previous years would stop her on the street, call her by name, and say "I remember you!"  And people who had never met her before would swear that they had.  Within minutes, they would tell her they felt as if they had known her their whole life.

Her compassion for people was rivaled by her love of animals.  Her own pets lived like kings, and she treated everyone else's pets better than their owners did.  She would suffer any inconvenience to provide care for a pet.

Michele mystified the medical community and left them without explanation for her perseverance.  She was the rock of her family—the thread that held them together.  She was a pillar of strength when most of us would have collapsed.  Vibrant, energetic, thoughtful, feisty, driven, and decisive, Michele left an indelible impression on all who crossed her path.

In addition to her husband Didier, Michele is survived by her brother, John Sepdy; by her sisters Marsha Thompson and her husband Alan; Lisa Driscoll and her husband Steve, and Nancy Puff.  She is also survived by her nieces and nephews: David Stout, Danielle Baer, Joseph Stout, James Stout, Cristopher Roth, Elise LaRocca, Ellis Driscoll, Hayden Driscoll, Cooper Driscoll, Martin Moati, and Ella Moati; as well as many grand-nieces and grand-nephews.

Michele’s family will receive friends on Friday, March 12, 2021 from 10:00AM until her Memorial Service 11:00AM in the Joseph A. Fluehr III Funeral Home, 241 East Butler Avenue (at Sandy Ridge Rd.) New Britain, PA 18901. A brunch gathering will follow, with details provided at the service. There will also be a service for family and friends to gather in Pittsburgh at a later date.

In lieu of flowers, contributions in her memory may be made to The American Red Cross at https://www.redcross.org/donate, and/or St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital at https://www.stjude.org/donate.
