Rosemary T. Gleason (Harte)
Rosemary T. Gleason of Holland, PA and formerly of Philadelphia peacefully passed away surrounded by her family on March 3rd, 2021. She was 81.
Born in Philadelphia she was the Cherished wife of James F. Gleason , the daughter of the late Daniel and Mary Josephine Hunter Harte, and the sister of the late Daniel, Jimmy, Johnny and William Harte.
Rosemary was a natural beauty, known for her striking blue eyes. enviable Celtic complexion and thick mane of hair. She devoted her life to raising her five children, always promoting positive character traits of kindness, generosity, and empathy towards others. She was a closeted "woman's activist" who constantly encouraged her daughters to be their own woman and forge a path in life on their own merits. Rosemary created a loving and tender home for her family that has provided a solid life foundation filled with happy memories. She was a proud first generation Irish American and a devout Catholic with a particular love and devotion to our Blessed Mother.
Rosemary was the revered "Queen of the Hot Gang" and enjoyed a life of world travel with her main man Jim. Jim was her world and theirs was a love story that lasted 61 years. They often quoted to one another "it's you and me against the world" and the two shared an amazing life of partnership, friendship, and deep love. Their commitment and loyalty to one another have impacted many.
In addition to her husband James, Rosemary is survived by her loving children James Gleason and his wife Ro, Michael Gleason and his wife Karen, Rosemary Bandru and her husband Michael, Eileen Donnelly and her husband Brian, and Daniel Gleason and his wife Colleen. She was the devoted Mom-Mom to her 13 grandchildren: devoted Mom-Mom to Siobhan, Seamus, Olivia,Katie, Michael, Maura, Ailish, Liam, Danny, Megan, Erin, Shannon and Kellie. She is also survived by her loving sister, Eileen Parker and her husband Richard.
Relatives and friends are invited to greet Rosemary’s family on Monday, March 8th from 10AM until the start of her funeral mass at 12:00pm at St. Bede the Venerable Church, 1071 Holland Rd., Holland, PA 18966. Interment will be private.
In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made to the Alzheimer’s Association, 399 Market Street, Suite 102 Philadelphia, PA 19106.
