Linda Welsh (Mims)

Linda C. Welsh of Philadelphia, PA, died peacefully on Friday, February 26, 2021, at Aristacare at Meadow Springs in Plymouth Meeting, PA, surrounded by her children, brother, and sister-in-law.  She was 71.

Born in Philadelphia, PA, she was the daughter of the late George E. and Martha C. Tesche Mims; mother of the late Kellyanne Welsh, who died as an infant; and sister of the late George Mims.

Linda lived in the Lawndale section of Philadelphia for 35 years.  She was born and raised in Germantown, and attended Immaculate Conception and later Cardinal Dougherty High School.  Her love for children was evident by her decades spent as a beloved child care provider. She also had a special interest in lighthouses and enjoyed displaying them throughout her home.  Linda enjoyed the special times spent with her children and grandchildren and will be remembered and sadly missed as a loving mother and devoted “Mimsy.”

She is survived by her four children, William F. Welsh and his wife, Beth, of Media, PA; Kathleen A. Degnan and her husband, Brian, of Swarthmore, PA; Michael G. Welsh and his wife, Virginia, of Phoenixville, PA; and Megan E. Welsh of Oreland, PA; and her seven grandchildren, Jack, Emma, Ella, Sophia, Lily, Danny, and Mae. She is also survived by her brother, Gregory Mims and his wife, Ann Marie, of Maple Glen, PA, and their children Jacqueline, Nicholas, Rebecca, and Gregory.

Relatives and friends are invited to attend her viewing on Friday, March 5, 2021, from 10:00 AM until 11:30 AM at the Joseph A. Fluehr III Funeral Home, 800 Newtown-Richboro Road (at Holland Road), Richboro, PA 18954. A private funeral service for family members will take place at 11:30 AM.  Interment will be private.

In lieu of flowers, contributions in her memory may be made to the Philadelphia chapter of Cradles to Crayons at https://www.cradlestocrayons.org/philadelphia.

In keeping with public health standards for Covid-19, masks will be required of all those attending and social distancing will be followed.
