James H. Wenstrup

James H. Wenstrup of Jamison, died peacefully on Saturday, February 27, 2021 at Lansdale Hospital Hospice.  He was 90.

Born in Cincinnati, Ohio, Jim was the beloved husband of 40 years to the late Helen Sebastian Wenstrup, son of the late Leo and Agnes Olbert Wenstrup, brother of the late Leo J. Wenstrup JR; the late Louise Wenstrup.  Brother-in-law of the late Marge Wenstrup, Edward Campbell, George Muller and Jack Casey.

Jim grew up in the Northeast section of Philadelphia and attended Saint Joseph Preparatory school thru his senior year, and for several reasons transferred to Northeast Catholic high school where he graduated with honors in 1948. He was a proud veteran of the United States Army serving during the Korean War.

Jim and Helen formerly lived in North Carolina for over 34 years, He worked for over 44 years for Eaton Yale as a mechanical Engineer and retired in 1992. Over the past 40 years Jim and Helen lived in North Carolina, Elkins Park, Pa. and most recently Doylestown and Jamison area.

Jim had many talents, his draftsman and mechanical skills where very much appreciated at Eaton Yale. Many of his family and friends received some of his stained glass creations, he dabbled in woodworking, and even tried embroidery on special sewing machines. When not working with his hands, you could look for him on a local golf course or changing channels on the TV looking for a Philly sports team game.  His memory will always be an inspiration for family and friends.

Jim is survived by his children: Joy Dannenberg and her husband William, Keith Wenstrup and his partner Rubin Irizarry, Brian Wenstrup and his wife Jill, step- father of Stephen Tranquillo and his wife Kathleen, Robert Tranquillo and his wife Amy. Brother of Jan Wenstrup and his wife Katherine, Ann Casey, Barbara Campbell, Joan Muller and Agnes Wenstrup. He is also survived by his dear grandchildren; Kevin, Julie, Greg Dannenberg (Brittany), Christopher (Glynnis), Michael Wenstrup (Fiancé Victoria Faranca), Sarah Wenstrup (Fiancé Brian Antolick), Dillon, Vincent, Forrest, Fiona, Garrett and HoldenTranquillo and great grandfather of Lillianna Wenstrup.

Jim’s family will receive condolences on Wednesday March 10, 2021 at St. Andrew Catholic Church, 81 Swamp Rd, Newtown from 11:00 am until his Funeral Mass 12 Noon.  Interment with Military Honors will follow at Washington Crossing National Cemetery, Newtown.
