Obituaries Eleanor Arline Healion (Holly)
Eleanor Arline Healion, 89, was called home on February 7, 2021. Arline was daughter to the late Belle Francesca Burnham and William Holly. She was born in East Orange NJ and relocated with family, to the Lake Lackawanna section of Byram Township, NJ. Her sister, Joyce Holly Gaughan, and grandson, Stephen Camuti, predecease her. She leaves behind her brother, James (Dolores) Holly, and sister, Sharon Mathews.
On October 18, 1952, Arline wed the love of her life, James Healion. They were blessed with 42 years of marriage before Jim was called home in 1994. Arline’s greatest love was her family; her children, Andrew (Lorraine), Joanne (Jim) Stein, Patricia, Barbara Camuti, Carole (John) Zarzycki, John (Jeanne), Edward, and Christine (Troy) Beers survive her.
Arline’s utmost pride and joy were her grandchildren: Shawn, Jessie (Camuti), Jilliana, Jacqueline (Zarzycki), Matthew, Carson (Beers), Joshua, James and Jonathan (Healion). Arline also leaves behind many beloved nieces and nephews.
Arline was a graduate of All Souls School of Nursing, and enjoyed a fulfilling career as a registered nurse. Her career took her from school nurse at St. Michael´s Parochial School in Netcong NJ, to nurse manager for Doctors Alan Chanin and Glenn Davis, in Chester, NJ. Arline’s nursing care extended out of the office as well, as she was often called upon to assist neighbors and friends who were in need of medical care.
She was a devoted parishioner at St. Michael’s Roman Catholic Church in Netcong until 2012, when she moved to the Ledgewood area, where she continued her faith at St. Therese Roman Catholic Church, in Succasunna, NJ. Mom had many interests, and enjoyed traveling, reading, cooking, playing cards, spending time with family and being active in many community events.
Mom was blessed with the warm and caring friendship of wonderful friends, with whom she shared special times and laughter for many years; they were quite the “ladies club”.
As a family, we spent many years vacationing at the Jersey Shore, where mom enjoyed putting her toes in the sand and crabbing in the Bay. We are very fortunate to have no shortage of wonderful vacation memories.
Mom had a life well lived, and in return, was well loved. We look forward to the opportunity to celebrate her life in spring 2021.
