Gerald E. Toft

Gerald E. Toft of Holland, PA died on Monday, February 8, 2021, at his home.  He was 85.

He was predeceased by his wife of 56 years, Patricia R. Toft (Blew).

Born in Trenton, NJ, he was the son of the late Donald and Blanche Toft.

Gerald was a resident of Holland for the past 14 years and formerly lived in Harvey Cedars, NJ for 15 years.  He attended Trenton Catholic High School after which he enlisted in the US Coast Guard and was primarily stationed in New York City.  After his service he attended Rider College where he received a Bachelor’s degree in Education.  While attending Rider, Jerry was employed part-time by Fell & Moon Company, an insurance agency in Trenton.  He was offered full time employment and eventually became the President of the agency for many years until his retirement in 2003.  Over his insurance career he was involved in the acquisition of over 20 smaller independent insurance agencies.  He was a well-respected businessman and involved in his community.  He served proudly on the Morrisville Borough Council for several years when the family lived there.  He was always considered a gentleman.

Jerry was an avid boater for several years captaining his “Full Moon” trawler moored in Rock Hall, Maryland.  Jerry and Pat navigated the Chesapeake Bay making many overnight trips to harbors all around the bay.  After boating Jerry and Pat turned their interests to Harvey Cedars where they would have family and friends to their beach house for leisurely times.

He was also predeceased by son David, and grandson Tanner.  He is survived by his sons Bryan of Holland, PA, Peter of Newtown, PA, and Michael and his wife Gina, of Ponte Vedra Beach, Florida.  He is also survived by 6 grandchildren, Jordan, Meghan, Paige, Cameron, Eryn, and Michael.  Surviving also are siblings Regina (George) of Yardley and Paul of Holland, PA.
