Ann L. DeMatteo (Corti)

Anna Luisa (Ann) DeMatteo of New Britain Township died peacefully on Saturday, January 30, 2021 at her home.  She was 86.

Ann was the loving wife of the late John J. DeMatteo with whom she had shared 58 years of marriage until his death in 2018.

Born in Astoria, NY she was the daughter of the late John and Angela Ida (Bruni) Corti.

Ann was a longtime employee at Delaware Valley College and cherished her many friendships while at DVC. She graduated from Bishop McDonell High School in Brooklyn, NYC and the College of Mt. St. Vincent in Riverdale, NY in 1956.

Ann delivered Meals on Wheels for many years, and was a member of Questers and Circolo Italiano. She enjoyed her annual Elderhostel trips.

She loved to cook and garden, welcoming all to her warm and lovely home. Most of all, she delighted in being with her grandchildren who affectionately called her Nonna.

Ann is survived by her three children, John DeMatteo and his wife, Stefania Halewich, of Quakertown, Maria DeMatteo and her husband, James McKenzie, of Marysville, OH, and Cristina DeMatteo and her husband, Paul Darreff, of Chalfont.

Her greatest joy was her 7 grandchildren; Jennifer (John), Pearson, Emilyanne, Angela, Gianna, Vanessa, Liliana and great-grandchildren Madison and Finley. She was preceded in death by her husband John, her parents John and Angela Ida (Bruni) and sister Maria Lea.

Relatives and friends are invited to greet the family on Saturday, July 24, 2021 from 10:30 AM until her Funeral Mass at 11:30 AM at Our Lady of the Sacred Heart Church, 100 Broad Street, Hilltown, PA 18927.  Her interment will be held privately.

In lieu of flowers, contributions can be made in her memory to The Alzheimer’s Association (www.alz.org), 399 Market Street, Suite 102, Philadelphia, PA 19106.
