Joanmarie V. Intelisano (DeStefano)

Joanmarie V. Intelisano of Holland died Tuesday, January 12, 2021 at the home of her daughter and son in law surrounded by her loving family. She was 81.

Born in Philadelphia, she was the daughter of the late John and Marie Vellozzi DeStefano.

Joan was married in 1958 to her sweetheart and husband of 63 years, Philip C. Intelisano.

Joanmarie (known as Joan to most) was born and raised in South Philadelphia.  She grew up on Watts Street with her brother John Anthony (Jack) DeStefano.

She attended Thomas Junior High and Southern High School where she was known for her artistic and musical abilities.

Joan had many interests which provided a great deal of pleasure for her.  She was in the Philadelphia Horticultural Society, Bucks Beautiful and entered items at The Philadelphia Flower Show.  She won many awards for her property and gardens through Bucks Beautiful.  She also played the piano and had a lovely voice. Both of which she thoroughly enjoyed sharing with family and friends.  She was active in many sports; bowling, tennis, water and snow skiing and at the age of 50 became a certified scuba diver.  Joan and Philip belong to the Alphorn Ski Club.  They have enjoyed many, many trips with the club to Europe and out west.

A beautiful daughter, devoted wife, loving mother and grandmother.  She will forever be remembered for her zeal for family.  They meant everything to her.

In addition to her beloved husband Philip, Joan is survived by her two children; Philip Intelisano and Joanmarie Schweizerhof.  Joan was also the proud loving grandmother to five grandchildren: Maria, Ian, Natalie, Audrey and Addison and a future grandson-in-law Matt.

Relatives and friends are invited to attend her viewing on Monday, January 18, 2021 from 9:00am to 9:45am followed by her Funeral Mass 10:00am in St. Agnes Church, 445 N.
