Anne D. Heiser (Gruber)
Anne (Donovan) Heiser of Doylestown, PA died peacefully on Tuesday, January 5, 2021 at her home surrounded by her family. She was 79 years old. Anne was born in Philadelphia, PA on September 23,1941 to William and Helen Gruber.
Anne was the beloved wife of David E. Heiser. She is survived by her sister Doris Diamond of Florida and preceded in death by her husband Thomas Donovan and her sister Marlene Scanlon.
Anne is also survived by her children Sharon Marte and husband Tom of Newtown, Thomas Donovan and wife Michelle of Bristol, Kathleen Donovan of Newtown, Karen McIntyre and husband Michael of Orefield, and David Heiser Jr. of Doylestown. Her grandchildren are Helen, Katherine, Donovan, Drielle, Garrett, and Brady whom she adored.
Anne grew up in Philadelphia where she graduated from Girls High School in 1960 and from Levitan Business School in 1962. After relocating to various locations across the country with her young family, she settled in Newtown, PA. Anne was soon working at Neshaminy School District where she made lifelong, treasured friends. She retired as Neshaminy’s Financial Director where she received many state awards.
Anne’s life centered around her family and her friends. She was a strong role model who instilled a sense of purpose in her children and grandchildren while loving them unconditionally. She gave of herself selflessly and generously. She was loved for her sense of civic duty as well as her delicious pancakes and warm hugs. Her strength and grace were an inspiration.
Anne was an avid traveler who had a curious mind and a love of learning. She and Dave traveled extensively, always planning their next adventure. At the same time, a favorite trip was the annual family vacation in the Outer Banks and her weekend trips with her girlfriends.
Due to the current pandemic uncertainty, services will be private. Anne will be laid to rest in the Washington Crossing National Cemetery in Washington Crossing, PA. A life celebration will be held at a later date. The family is grateful for all those that have reached out and for all the support and love that you have shared with them during this most difficult time.
