Richard J. Hornickle

Richard J. Hornickle of Yardley, formerly of Bensalem and Philadelphia, died peacefully surrounded by his loved ones at home on Monday, January 4, 2021.  He was 77.

Rich was the beloved husband of the late Carolyn (Gregorowicz) Hornickle.

Born in Philadelphia he was the son of the late Ernest and Mary (Bogle) Hornickle and brother of the late Ernest Hornickle.

Rich was a veteran of the Air Force and had a long and successful career as an IT Director for various local Health Care Organizations.  He enjoyed spending time with family and friends, traveling, fishing, woodworking and playing golf.  Rich was always a devoted and loving father, grandpop and friend. He will be greatly missed and his memory will live on in the hearts and minds of those who knew him.

Rich is survived by his sons Christopher Hornickle and his wife Pamela of Bensalem and Timothy Hornickle and his wife Jennifer of West Chester, PA.  He is also survived by his four grandchildren Allison, Joshua, Alexander, and Lillianna, his sister Rosemary Degan, his sister-in-law Deborah Hornickle and his partner Phyllis Guerin.

Rich’s family will receive friends on Thursday, January 14, 2021 from 10:00AM until his Funeral Mass 11:00AM at St. Ephrem Catholic Church, 5430 Hulmeville Road Bensalem, PA 19020.  Interment will follow at Resurrection Cemetery in Bensalem.

In lieu of flowers, contributions in his memory may be made to Penn Medicine’s Abramson Cancer Center, 3535 Market St. Suite 750 Philadelphia, PA 19104 or to Chandler Hall Hospice, 99 Barclay St. Newtown, PA 18940.
