Francis Xavier Rahill

Francis Xavier Rahill, of Chalfont, PA died on Friday, December 18, 2020, at Children's Hospital of Philadelphia. He was 20.

Born in Abington, PA, he was the youngest son of Jerry and Pina Rizzo Rahill of Chalfont.

Franny began honing his craft of neighborhood socializer at a very young age, hopping out of bed on a Saturday morning and making his way through many a welcoming door— to scarf up the last piece of pound cake from a party the night before, hold a dog in his lap, swim in a pool, or secure an invite for that night’s dinner and an ear of corn. Though school was a challenge, Fran found comfort on the football and lacrosse field. He brought with him an impressive resume of sideline experience at Archbishop Wood and Chestnut Hill high schools, half-time speeches at Ursinus College, and after-game celebrations and coaching advice at Mercer University. Easily, they were highlights of Fran’s life. An independent spirit drove Fran, on display as he pedaled his way to 46th Street on an early summer day or landed a job of his own accord delivering menus on the beach in his beloved Sea Isle City. Fran is best remembered as the empathetic person who was first to ask you about a recent illness or tragedy, who remembered what brand of shoes you loved best, and whose face lit up when you answered his call.

In addition to his parents, Fran is survived by his three brothers; Gerald "Jerry" and his wife Kelsey Rahill of Manayunk, Christopher Rahill of Manayunk, and Matthew Rahill of Chalfont, and his sister Gianna Rahill of Chalfont. He is also survived by his maternal grandmother Menina Melchiorre Rizzo of Philadelphia, and a nephew Gerald Francis Rahill Jr. and numerous aunts, uncles, and cousins. He was predeceased by his paternal grandparents, Eugene and Mary Wixted Rahill and his paternal grandfather Frank Rizzo.

Relatives and friends are invited to attend his viewing where masks and social distancing will be practiced on Wednesday, December 23, 2020 from 10:00AM until his Funeral Mass 12:00PM in St. Jude Church, 321 West Butler Ave., Chalfont, PA 18914. His interment will be private for just his family in Doylestown Cemetery immediately following the mass.

Due to the current pandemic uncertainty, the family understands and respects that everyone may not be able or comfortable to attend the services. They are grateful for all those that have reached out and for all the support and love that you have shared with them during this most difficult time in their lives.
