George J. Wetzell, III
George J. Wetzell, III, of Warrington, PA died on Sunday, November 15, 2020 at Doylestown Hospital. He was 69 years old.
George was the beloved husband of Peggy “Mag” (Gunning) Wetzell. George and Peggy have shared 35 years together full of love and amazing memories.
Born in Philadelphia, PA, George was the son of the late George J., II and Jennie Bell (Fauth) Wetzell.
A proud, decorated US Army veteran, George was a member of the 173rd Airborne Brigade and trained as a combat engineer. He served in the Vietnam War from 1969-1970, until he was hit with an IED and suffered with severe war injuries. He received the Purple Heart for his service.
Always was the life of the party and an all-around good guy, George, known as “Patch” enjoyed riding his motorcycle with his fellow brothers of the Nam-Knights Motorcycle Club of Delran, NJ and loved to camp and hunt with his best buddies Norm and Ray.
In addition to his wife Peggy, George will be missed by his daughter, Stephanie (Sam) Fioravanti, and Dennis Shaw; his 5 grandchildren, Clyde, Samuel, Eryn, Aliya and Alyse; his siblings, Ginny (Michael), Jacqueline (James), Bennett, Jeffrey, Linda and the late Loretta (late Joe); his brothers-in-law, Paul (Cheryl), Jimmy (Norma), and Dennis (Nancy); his sisters-in-law, Joanne (Ray) and Ree (Mike).
Relatives and friends are invited for Military Honors and Committal Prayers on Tuesday, November 24, 2020 at Washington Crossing National Cemetery, 830 Highland Road in Newtown, PA 18940. Attendees are asked to gather at the Administration Building at 10:45am, following signs to form in procession.
