Edith May Elia (Donohue)

Edith May Elia passed away peacefully on Friday, November 13, 2020. She was 69.

Edith was the beloved wife to the late Michele (Michael) Angelo Elia for 37 years.

Born in Philadelphia, Edith was the loving daughter to the late Edward and Edith Robinson Donohue.

Edith loved watching old action movies and tv shows, as well as reminiscing about her time spent on cruise ships, both as a passenger and employee.  She met her husband while she was a hairdresser on Princess Cruise’s “Sea Venture”, which later became the original set of the television show “The Love Boat”.  After living in Bermuda with her husband, they returned to Philadelphia where she continued her work as a hairdresser, making many friends of her customers. In addition to her son, she mothered and spoiled two German Shepherds, Vickie and Nickie as well as two Siamese cats, Leo and Louie.

Edith is survived by her loving son Michael E. Elia and his wife Laurie, as well as her two grandchildren: Michael and Faith.

Edith’s services and interment will be held privately by the family.
