Grace D. Scharff (Donovan)

Grace D. Scharff (née Donovan) of Jamison, PA passed away peacefully on November 5, 2020 surrounded by loved ones. She was 94.

Grace was the beloved wife to the late Aelred “El” Scharff, mother to the late Matthew Scharff, daughter to the late Grace Fleming (née Ingham) and Daniel Donovan, and sister to the late Mildred Dindio

Grace is survived by two daughters; Eileen Kukoda (Tom) of West Chester and Linda Degatano (Mark) of Doylestown, and grandchildren Michael (Kylee), Tim (Brittany), Andrew, Bryan, and Alicia.

Grace was born in Philadelphia, and she grew up there with her mother and sister. She graduated from Little Flower High School and went on to work in the accounting department of AT&T. Grace and El lived in Northeast Philadelphia, Marlton NJ, followed by many years in King of Prussia, PA. She and El retired to Ocean City NJ where her family vacationed every year.

Grace was an excellent cook; she loved trying new recipes, and often shared her soups, baked goods, and sugared pecans with family and friends. Grace traveled more as the years went on; she enjoyed trips to California, Italy, England, and Alaska — just to name a few. Another highlight was a trip to Disney World with her children and grandchildren where lots of fond memories were made.

Grace enjoyed time in the King of Prussia Newcomer’s Club, bowling, crossword puzzles, ‘Cousins Dinners’ at the shore, Michigan Rummy (she was the ‘Queen of Michigan Rummy’), playing pinochle and just spending time with friends and family.

Grace was a caring wife, mother, grandmother and friend who will be greatly missed.

Her service will be held privately by the family only.

In lieu of flowers, contributions in her name may be made to Alzheimer’s Association: 225 N. Michigan Ave., Fl. 17, Chicago, IL 60601.
