Agnes Casey

Agnes T. Casey of Newtown, PA died peacefully, surrounded by her loving family on Friday, October 30, 2020.  She was 89.

Born in Philadelphia, Agnes was the beloved wife of the late Robert J. Casey, loving mother of the late Robert J. Casey, Jr. and Marlene Dwyer, and daughter of the late William and Agnes Rae Halpin Rogers.

Agnes grew up in the Kensington section of Philadelphia where she attended Ascension of Our Lord Elementary School, Little Flower High School, and St. Boniface Business School.  Upon completion of her schooling, Agnes had diverse employment experiences from a seasonal position with the IRS to working the front counter of Danny’s Flower Shop in Holmesburg.  The most fulfilling job for Agnes was as a stay-at-home mother raising her four children.  Family was her greatest source of pride.  Agnes was happiest when surrounded by her children, grandchildren, and great-grandchildren. Whether a holiday gathering or a family weekend in Wildwood Crest, NJ or the Pocono Mountains she provided her family with many fun and loving memories.  In her final days Agnes expressed how she felt surrounded by the love of her family. In turn, her family will forever feel the warm embrace of Agnes’s love.

Agnes is survived by her loving children; Donna M. Donohue and her husband Kevin and William J. Casey and his wife Beth, her sisters Claire Waterman and Dolores Foley, as well as 9 grandchildren, and 12 great-grandchildren.

Relatives and friends are invited to greet the family on Thursday, November 5th, 2020 from 9:00 AM until her Funeral Mass at 10:00 AM at St. Dominic Church, 8501 Frankford Ave., Philadelphia, PA 19136.  Her interment will follow in the adjacent parish cemetery.

In lieu of flowers, anyone who has been touched by the love from Agnes are asked to spread it forward through Acts of Kindness and prayers for peace.  Nothing would make her happier than seeing the people she loves spreading joy and laughter in her name.
