Michael Brendan McElhinney, Sr.

M. Brendan McElhinney, Sr. died at home in Feasterville on Monday, October 26, 2020, surrounded by the love of his family.

Brendan was the beloved husband of Elinore (Everett) McElhinney. The couple had shared over 50 years of love, laughter and happy memories.

Born in Strabane, Ireland, Brendan was the son of the late Hugh and Theresa (O’Flaherty) McElhinney.He was the loving father of the late Timothy, Monica and Michael, Jr.

From shore to shore, Brendan carried the way of Jesus in all that he did. Through tending to his many creative callings, he showed love, compassion and patience with a gentle spiritual awareness that allowed others to be the truest versions of themselves in his pure hearted presence. A gift that he shared willingly. A nurturing, peaceful yet innovative and free-thinking shepherd to all that knew and loved him so fondly.

 In addition to his wife Elinore, Brendan will be missed tremendously by his children and their spouses, Mary Jo, Lori Ann (Steve), Edward (Lisa), Brenda (Cameron) and Sheleen (Tony); his 19 grandchildren, Taylor(Ryan),Timothy(Tiffany), Brittni (James), Ashley (Christian), Timothy (Alessia), Rachel (Karl), Scarlett-Rose, Juliette, Gabby, Aine, Quinn, Pearse, Olivia, Luke, Aodhan, Brendan, Hannah, Finn and Seamus and 7 great grandchildren, Josey, Mila, Liam, Wylder, Rhys, Everett and Sophia Josephine.

He is survived by his siblings, Peadar (Jeanne),Eugene (Celine,deceased), Angela (Ian) and Monica (Seamus).

Relatives and friends may greet the family from 10:00am, until the start of Brendan’s Funeral Mass, 11:00am on Tuesday, November 3, 2020 at St. Bede the Venerable Church, 1071 Holland Road, Holland, PA 18966. Interment will follow at Resurrection Cemetery in Bensalem, PA.
